Campus Contern is certified by INDR’s CSR label. It’s also a story of partnership and good neighbourly relations, owed in large part to the commitment of those involved and, in particular, to the excellent collaboration with shime.
In the past, for a company to stand out, it needed beautiful cars and gold business cards… But that was then. Today, to be recognised as a good company, you need a human touch, kindness, and a positive environmental footprint. And you need to obtain, for example, a CSR label or an ISO Green certification.
CAMPUS CONTERN chose to join INDR and the Luxembourg CSR label to continue its commitment and promote essential values—commitment to the future and to people—and thus join a community of companies that share these values.
The journey was straightforward. The keys to success and to obtaining the label quickly?
#1 Genuine commitment
When you’re truly committed, answering the certification questions becomes much easier. CAMPUS CONTERN was built on respect for the environment and the well-being of its occupants, notably thanks to the BREEAM certification, which ensures all of this. Achieving the Excellent rating was a challenge—and an investment—but the result lives up to it, judging by tenant satisfaction levels and loyalty.
“The CSR certification helped formalise our natural way of seeing things and managing the site,” says Campus Contern’s enthusiastic Marketing Manager, Virginie Ducommun. “From the start, every purchase, innovation or initiative has had to pass our test: is it good for the planet, and is it good for people? It can sometimes be a challenge to validate, but it’s the guiding principle behind our ‘Feel Good At Work’. Putting it down in black and white made it even stronger and opened up new avenues for further developments, including the ambitious goal of zero carbon.”
#2 Validating actions
Obtaining the label and listing all these initiatives helps you realise what has already been achieved: optimised buildings, a BioOrg indoor air-purifying ecosystem, recycled and recyclable installations, Luxembourg’s first autonomous shuttle, solar panels on every roof right next to the beehive, a shared car, a fully equipped conference room, a fitness area open to everyone, cigarette-butt recycling, on-site and nearby services plus a virtual concierge, regular opinion surveys to stay aligned with tenants’ needs… Even today, CAMPUS CONTERN is the only private site with 67 EV charging stations.
“We’re proud to offer this to our tenants so they feel good at work and enjoy coming here every day, but also so they can benefit from it in turn. Some of the actions we’ve put in place can help them earn points towards their own certification, since the beneficiaries are the tenants. You could see it as a kind of reward for choosing the right office for their company!”
#3 Cooperation between neighbours, alignment of visions
And then there’s cooperation and partnership. “We’ve always promoted relationships and synergies between the companies on site. Working with your neighbours combines business with pleasure,” continues Virginie Ducommun. That’s how Campus Contern naturally turned to shime, which specialises in CSR support. “Their support was a great help in preparing for the certification and optimising our time.”
Sometimes the story is built together, through neighbourly ties and a partner network looking in the same direction. “It’s partly thanks to CAMPUS CONTERN that shime was born! One of the networking events we organised for our companies was dedicated to socio-responsible commitments. Through Frédéric Liégeois from the Infogreen platform, we invited Norman Fisch to present INDR and the benefits of the brand-new CSR label. Won over by the label’s vision and the message, Stéphane Hérard created shime!”
If anyone still needed convincing, here’s further proof that a shared commitment to the environment and to people creates value—for everyone!
