This week, right in time for the European Union’s Green Week, our 12 decorative fir trees left our esplanade to reach more fertile ground, literally.
While we couldn’t make it a festive moment with neighbors, the satisfaction of seeing them take root is gratifying.
Festive, yet responsible
This year, unable to resist the call of the holiday season, we ordered 12 beautiful, bushy fir trees to decorate the exteriors. Unable to gather for our now traditional Campus mulled wine, we united around the garlands instead.
Of course, in keeping with our CSR and ecological convictions, we had ordered potted trees so that we could enjoy the ambiance and typical Christmas scent without condemning 12 trees to end up as compost, at best. The spotlights and garlands will be reused next year.
Contributing to local biodiversity
The initial idea was to organize a mini-event and invite tenants who wished to join us in replanting them, but this was obviously not possible yet. So, we donated them to the Municipality of Contern, which was delighted to receive them. The gardening team came to collect them and replanted them in various areas of the municipality to enhance green spaces and contribute to biodiversity.
To be continued
We are very happy that they have all returned to open ground. We will check on them throughout the year to see if they have taken root well.
Many thanks to the Municipality of Contern for their help.
